1.
Allergy and asthma:
Established first full fledged allergy diagnostic, research and
therapeutic laboratory and clinic in Pakistan. Developed indigenous
allergens for diagnosis and therapy. Clinical management of all types of
allergy patients. Established and evaluated new treatment protocols for the
treatment of urticaria. Studying the effects of reproductive hormones on
different types of allergies.
2.
Clinical Immunology:
Extensive experience in all aspects of diagnostic and research
immunology and serology, using all sorts of conventional and advanced
techniques like radio immuno assay, enzyme immuno assay (ELISA),
immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry etc. for both routine as well as
specialised tests. In addition established several immunodiagnostic
techniques for the first time in Pakistan.

HIV/AIDS:
Screening and confirmatory testing, by
Western blotting, immunofluorescence etc. including evaluation and testing of
immunodiagnostic kits. Counselling for HIV/AIDS patients. Programme
management. Epidemiological surveillance and screening programmes.

(allergy vaccines). Evaluation of efficacy of immunotherapy in respiratory
allergies. Research on indigenous allergies.

Established immunofluorescence staining on human renal tissues for the
first time in Pakistan. Co-supervised an M.Phil. thesis at the
Quaid-e-Azam Post Graduate Medical Institute, Islamabad (Quaid-e-Azam
University, Islamabad) in this subject.

Study on the incidence of Oestrogen Receptors in human breast tissue by
immuno-peroxidase staining technique. Co-investigator in a PMRC Research
Project on this subject and Co-supervised an M.Phil. thesis at the
Quaid-e-Azam Post Graduate Medical Institute, Islamabad (Quaid-e-Azam
University, Islamabad) in this subject.

Evaluation of different commercial diagnostic kits, including testing for
AIDS and HIV infection, for use in Pakistan.
