If you suffer from breathing problems, or asthmatic attacks, it would be beneficial to use INHALERS, AS ADVISED BY YOUR DOCTOR. There are many stories related to the use (or misuse )of inhalers, but these are from people who don’t know much about them.
Frequently asked questions about inhalers:
Inhalers are very safe form of treatment. Inhalers are QUICK ACTING than other forms of treatment, because they go exactly where needed, without circulating through your blood stream first (like tablets, syrups and even injections)
Inhalers do not cause addiction, as some people may say. Inhalers are not the last form of treatment for difficult breathing, in fact they are safe enough to be given to small children even.
Inhalers work in microgram doses (and we all know that 1 microgram is ONE THOUSAND TIMES than 1 milligram).
If your doctor has advised you to use inhalers, you will benefit GREATLY by using it through a SPACE DEVICE, which increases drug delivery to your lungs, and prevents wastage. It is an observation (and also reported by the Agha Khan Hospital, Karachi ) that MOST people, no matter how educated CANNOT take inhalers properly, and only get a fraction of the dose they need.
A SPACER DEVICE is a plastic bottle-like apparatus, in which the inhaler fits into one side, and the patient breathes in the other. These are available in the market. It ensures that the patient gets the maximum benefit from the inhaler.

Use of Air Purifiers or room air filters will also help to purify the air, thus removing a large part of the pollen and dust particles which may be causing the allergy. These are expensive, but if one can afford them easily, it would help to have one air filter in the bedroom, and one air filter at work or in the office.
It is strongly recommended that the patients who suffer from seasonal allergy should visit their local doctor or an Allergy Specialist, and seek his advise to start Anti Allergy Preventive Treatment, well in advance, before they start suffering from complaints. This will prevent things from getting worse in the pollen season.
Some people like to be heroes and avoid taking medicines till it becomes absolutely essential. Remember that PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. A small amount of the correct anti-allergic medication can prevent a lot of treatment (and Money) spent in managing an asthma attack later on, not to mention the pain, agony, suffering and discomfort to the patient, and all those around him.
